Any day now

I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for FedEx to finally send me notification that my tickets to the Olympics are being shipped, and I finally got it yesterday. Now, far be it for me to criticize FedEx for its shipping methods, but it started near Newark,N.J., and I live right outside of Atlanta. Why then did FedEx have to send my tickets to Memphis for a layover? Furthermore, why don't they give me a more specific time to expect them besides "before 4:30 p.m." on the day they are supposed to arrive?

That means a FedEx person could be showing up on my doorstep sometime between 8 a.m., and 4:30 p.m. but FedEx isn't really going to get more specific than that. I'm sorry, but do I look like I have 8.5 hour to set aside on a work day to sit at home and wait for a package to arrive?

I still have to figure out what I'm going to do with these tickets when I'm in London. I arrive on July 25 and the events are on July 28 and 29, respectively. I can't just leave them in my hotel room where any one can break in and steal my stuff. I learned my lesson after someone broke into my hotel room in San Francisco last year, used my bed and my shower and then stole a shirt and pair of pants out of the closet in my room. I'm not exactly high on hotel security right now.

Anyone have any suggestions??
